Your Packing List for a Peaceful Birth Room

The one thing I knew I needed during my labor and delivery was PEACE. I needed a serene, calm environment with simple but impactful items that made everything feel very comfortable and luxurious. This looks different to everyone so really focus on the items that make you feel cozy and well taken care of.
I delivered in a hospital so making the room less sterile was the goal. You can use these items to set the vibe no matter where you plan to give birth.
Must-haves for your birth room:
- Himalayan Salt lamp – Not only does this give a warm and cozy glow to the room, but salt lamps also boost moods, promote sleep, and clean the air.
- Essential oils – I mixed a blend of Negroli + Vetiver that I used through my pregnancy and birth. I would put it on before I would meditate during pregnancy in hopes to make that sensory connection and feel calm during labor and delivery. I linked the local Denver apothecary I purchased from! You can make your own special blend, too.
- Rosewater Mist – I sprayed my face and the room whenever I needed a refresh. It kept my skin feeling hydrated and it smells so good. The benefit – rosewater helps soothe and calm your skin and reduces redness and irritation.
- Bluetooth speaker for your music. I still listen to my mediation playlist and the baby loves it.
More items off my list:
- Robe – big, cozy + fuzzy
- Bath Towels
- Travel size of your favorite soaps, shampoos, and lotions. (I brought Aveda products and loved this special touch.)
- Skincare
- Jade Roller
- Face + Eye Masks
- Poo Pouri (If I am laboring in the bathtub everything better smell like roses- everything.)
- Slippers
- Eye Pillow or a Sleep Mask
- Pillow + Blanket
- Crystals – Unakite, Malachite, Rose Quartz are supportive for birth and were gifted to me by special people in my life. Any special items you have can make a beautiful altar in your birth space.
What item was most valuable to have in your birth room?
